Foreclosure Defense Coaching Program

This is a new program I've created to support homeowners as they navigate the default and foreclosure process.

If this is your first visit to my website, welcome! My name is Christine Springer and I'm the founder of Desert Edge Legal Services and the author of the content on this site.

I wanted to let you know about a new coaching program I've created for homeowners. I think it's a win-win for homeowners and also for me as a service provider.

When I think back on working with homeowners in the Great Recession (2007 subprime crash until 2013-ish) I realized that I was doing a lot of coaching in addition to researching property analytics.

You may also remember the MARS rule, which says that there are no upfront fees permitted for services like loan modifications. I think it's more broad than just loan modifications, and probably applies to property analytics too.

I didn't take upfront fees after the MARS rule was created by the Federal Trade Commission, and it made it tough for me as a small business to continue helping homeowners with their loans. I was fortunately only stiffed once by a homeowner.

To get around these issues, I've decided to just give the audit away for free as part of the coaching program.

The goal is to educate homeowners on getting help early, because that is when you have the best options and more of them.

Also, the price of my services has gone up since the last recession. I think many people are in much better financial situation post-pandemic than they were in the Great Recession, but for many people, my services will be a challenge to pay in one lump sum.

To give homeowners an incentive to plan ahead, I am offering the audit totally free if you enroll in my coaching program. The cost is $500 a month, and you must spend at least four months in the program in order to get the audit done for free.

You could say that it's like putting the audit on layaway, but the coaching services are important to the overall plan. Most people need more time during the process to get everything figured out.

This coaching program is just a formal acknowledgement of the other parts of the process, and allows me to be fairly compensated for the time I spend coaching people through the process.

You won't get this kind of attention from an attorney. I'm planning on doing coaching calls individually with clients on a weekly basis to keep things moving, so that's like $125 for a weekly strategy session.

Often, people know well in advance that they can't afford their mortgage. I'd like them to take action sooner in order to get the help they need earlier, because it benefits them.

I have 12 spots right now. In the program, we'll work out your issues and get you on the road to a solution.

This is not legal advice. I just want to be clear – you're not hiring an attorney and this is not a low budget version of legal advice. You will most likely still have to hire a lawyer at some point, and this is another reason that it's good to start planning ahead of time.

We're going to be discussing the emotional side of this process, helping you stay out of fear and indecision and exploring options.

Then I'll be looking at the facts and evidence in your original loan documents and you'll get support for as long as you want to stay in the program after that. I'll even discuss the report with your lawyer as part of your coaching program.

This coaching program is very affordable considering how much many coaches charge for their services. I've seen coaching packages cost $10,000 a month in some situations, like real estate investment education and mentoring.

You can check out the foreclosure defense coaching page for more information, or contact me at christine[at]Desert Edge Legal dot com.

I'm working on getting a calendar embedded on that page but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. For now you can send me an e-mail to set up an exploratory call to discuss working together.

Thanks everyone! Christine
